James Beard nominee Missy Robbins stepped down from her Michelin-starred role at A Voce and A Voce Columbus in 2013, and ever since people have awaited news of her return to the kitchen. Now she's back; partnering up with Matt Kleigman, the co-owner of the Smile and Black Seed, they've launched a Italian restaurant in Williamsburg.
Located in a distinctive former auto-body garage with high ceilings and plenty of windows, the wood-burning grill takes center stage with a focus on fish (the menu has a Big Fish and Little Fish section), vegetables, and pasta. There's be a more casual ambience and lower price point than her previous ventures. Expect a to-go café element to come, which will transform into a cocktail bar by night.
Pasta, light Italian fare, and a unique space.
Veal bolognese; pike with salsa verde and roasted potatoes; winter-vegetable bagna cauda; and garlic bread with mozzarella and bottarga on the side.
Some game-changing wine cocktails.
