Smith & Wollensky

The local outpost of Smith & Wollensky is on the southern end of Miami Beach, serving both lunch and dinner, featuring a traditional Smith & Wollensky menu of USDA Prime dry-aged steaks served up alongside premium seafood and award-winning wines. Head here for sublime outdoor dining on the waterfront, complete with sweeping views of exclusive Fisher Island and the Government Cut channel to the Atlantic. You can watch the cruise ships head out as you dine. In addition to its Dec bar, the restaurant has a waterfront café, outdoor patio and two floors of restaurant dining. Reservations recommended.

Seaspice

Waterfront seafood brasserie continues to please its sexy, scene-driven diners. Located right on the Miami River, Seapsice (formerly known as Seasalt & Pepper) restaurant sits proud, and for good reason. With its gorgeous decor, stunning waterviews and seafood-focused menu, the Brasserie is the place to be and be seen. While its name recently changed, the overall concept stays the same and so does the sexy ambience. The spacious, open-air dining room brings in warm breezes thanks to the extra-large windows, while the all-white interior splashed with dark blue hues and red accents create a warm, nautical theme. The outdoor patio is just as impressive with its small wooden tables lined up on the dock overlooking the river.

Amara at Paraiso

Upscale Latin fare is served in a chic waterside dining room with a deck overlooking the stunning Biscayne Bay. Amara at Paraiso, in its idyllic bayside setting, brings together bold Latin American flavours, coastal ingredients, and South Florida's diversity of food culture to create the quintessential Miami waterfront restaurant from environment to cuisine and vibe. The beverage program mirrors Amara at Paraiso's menu, with Latin American inspired ingredients with cocktails as single serving or punch bowls, bottled, and shaken or stirred, along with an extensive wine list. The 4500-square-foot, indoor-outdoor space boasts industrial and resort-style vibes, with a few eccentric nods to Miami's exotic lifestyle. The James Beard award-winning chef and owner, Michael Schwartz promises a culinary experience with "dynamic energy, local ingredients, and natural beauty". The view is truly unmatched and a step into Miami's local spirit.

Zuma

An ultra chic Downtown eatery overlooking Biscayne Bay never fails to disappoint. Modern elegance is heightened inside Zuma, a luxury Japanese venue in Downtown Miami offering internationally-acclaimed cuisine by master chef Rainer Becker. Marking the first American outpost of its brand, this destination is followed by five other locations found in Dubai, London, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Bangkok. Modelled after a casual type of Japanese drinking den called Izakaya, the vibe might have a comfortable overtone but isn't completely relaxed, especially with its on-point, friendly service. The impressive interior of dark woods, rich tones and floor-to-ceiling windows amplifies the ambiance while the high-end fare of fresh sushi and contemporary plates make for an always luxurious experience.

La Mar by Gaston Acurio

Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio brings his talents to Brickell Key with his latest concept, La Mar by Gaston Acurio located inside the Mandarin Oriental, Miami. This marks the third U.S. location, followed by sister venues La Mar Cebicheria in San Francisco and Tanta in Chicago. The upscale indoor/outdoor setting with wood accents and contemporary design overlooks the Biscayne Bay and Miami skyline. Three bars take up the airy interior with two dedicated to Cebiches and Anticuchos while the third serves cocktails-only, spotlighting the Peruvian liquor Pisco. Traditional Novo-Andean fare and Asian-Peruvian fusion take up most of the menu that's complemented by a variety of fresh seafood ceviche for those looking for lighter options. Pictured.
