Located at the podium level in Emirates Financial Towers in DIFC, Mantis promises the usual trappings of international artists and celebrated DJs, state-of-the-art lights projecting colours over its dance floor, and a bar that dominates a large section of the 8,500-square-foot space. The dining component offers up ‘sophisticated Asian and South American-inspired dishes and classic European favourites’. Mantis (designed by French design team L’Exception) also boasts an ‘Immersive Room’ – a quieter, more laid-back space where you can go to chill out and imbibe shots of Kopi Luwak coffee, one the world’s most expensive beans. Decor wise there's artwork by Manhattan-based artist Tomaso Albertini and a corridor mirrored from floor to ceiling. Initially, Mantis is open on Thursdays and Fridays, with more nights set to be introduced. Pictured.
Beirut’s iconic Skybar has finally arrived in Dubai. Beirut’s Skybar needs no introduction. The legendary Lebanese nightclub is a nightlife institution, drawing crowds from across the Middle East for an open-air party like no other. And it’s coming to Dubai. The group behind Skybar has opened Sky2.0 in the Dubai Design District. Great news for UAE party goers but not so much for the nearby Base club – currently Base's only real competition is the city’s other rooftop club, White - atop the Meydan Racecourse. Expect Sky2.0 to have the same open-air concept as Skybar, with the same glamourous ambience and stunning city views. Think top DJ'S, live entertainment, light shows, table service and lots of sparklers.
For the first time outside of Moscow, Secret Room, a luxurious nightlife destination (an underground room behind a graffiti-coloured corridor) has recently opened at FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai. Access is only granted via unique fingerprint identification or you can drive your supercar straight into the middle of the club. The space is decked out with 18th-century-inspired hand-painted murals coupled with modern sofas and transparent tables and an avant-garde, rose-gold bar which poses as the club's centrepiece, and was designed by architect Paolo Ferrari. With Hip Hop and R&B being the sole foundation of the club, the resident DJ and guest DJ’s explore all aspects of these genres but also delve into other soundscapes such as; Trap, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Afro beat, House & EDM. Secret Room hosts three weekly parties on Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.
