Le Cordon Blue

One of the world’s most famous and prestigious French cookery school’s, is slated to open a new, second site on Fleet Street in London, on the former site of Lutyens restaurant. The internationally recognised brand counts the likes of Yotam Ottolenghi, Julia Child, Mary Berry, Nancy Silverton, and Virgilio Martinez among its alumni; it has taken over the lease for a new school and in-house restaurant which will open to the public. 

Mimo London

An award-winning cookery school, experiential dining and chefs table housed in an historic building in Borough Market and equipped with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and sleek induction hobs. Founded by a husband and wife team, the concept was born in Spain’s Basque Country and has branched out with locations in Seville, Mallorca and the Algarve. With Mimo London’ they set out to highlight Iberian cooking, using the best British produce from the market next door. The cooking experiences range from in-depth studies of Basque pintxos to lunch hour sessions and classes for the entire family – around a communal table to feast on the session’s wares.

Sauce by The Langham

A cookery school where you can learn the trade secrets of some of London’s finest chefs, headed up by executive chef Chris King and Michel Roux Jr, who oversees Roux at the Landau and the Wigmore  - the hotel's upmarket pub. Choose from their ‘building block’ classes where you can master the basics such as perfecting your pastry or sharpening your knife skills, or hone more refined techniques in their premium classes, which cover everything from creating British classics, inspired by The Wigmore’s hearty menu to a master class with Michel Roux Jr. The new facilities - housed in the heart of the hotel - are modelled on a farmhouse kitchen and can cater for up to 12 people, with prices starting from £250. 

Kitchen Masterclass Experience at Pied à Terre

One of London's longest standing Michelin fine dining restaurants, you can get a behind-the-scenes experience. Every Friday, the restaurant opens up their restaurant (and kitchen) for 5 guests to experience the world of a Michelin starred kitchen and work alongside the team in creating some of their renowned dishes. Head chef Asimakis Chaniotis demonstrates how to prepare three dishes as well as explaining how to use different ingredients and flavour combinations and teach you the tricks to take home. Afterwards, dine on a 4-course lunch with paired wines. Priced form £230.

The Divertimenti Cookery School

From hands-on masterclasses to experiencing Michelin-starred chef's table events, the school caters for cooks of all levels with a diverse menu of classes and events. Situated in the basement of the Knightsbridge store, this well-equipped and beauitfully designed cookery school caters for amateurs, enthusiasts and accomplished cooks alike with a diverse menu of classes featuring ‘the classics, the contemporary and tomorrow’s trends’. Divertimenti also brings in some of London’s leading chefs and famous food writers for themed events and masterclasses that range from Thai to Tuscan. In each class, you receive copies of the recipes, tastings of the dishes and a 10% discount for shopping afterwards. 

Borough Kitchen

Learn exciting new culinary techniques from classically-trained chefs at kitchenware retailer Borough Kitchen's two London cook schools, in their Chiswick and Hampstead stores. The hands-on courses not only give you access to some of the best cooking tools but also a trained-chef. Unlike other cooking classes which focus on specific recipes, their classes focus on teaching you transferable skills and techniques - that can be applied to any style of cooking. Recent classes include: a fermentation and pickling class and and introduction to Indian cooking.
