Healthy Dining in Miami

Urbanologist and personal trainer, Thalita Pascual, shares with U her favorite healthy dining hangouts in Miami...

Lilikoi Organic Living

It never disappoints. From breakfast, to lunch and dinner they are committed to serving the freshest highest quality food you can find. Lilikoi means passion fruit in Hawaiian and you can find some of the islands influence in dishes like Poke Bowl (one of my favorites). It's a beach casual kind of place where you can drink everything from coconut water to organic wine. The baking goods and desserts are totally worth trying, made with only natural ingredients you can indulge without the guilt.

Mandolin

Simple yet a unique experience in every bite. It will make you feel and taste like you are in Greece and Turkey. The grilled meats and seafoods are great healthy options for anyone watching their diet. It's hard to say no to the freshly baked pita with hummus but you can also have crudités instead. If you are into coffee do not skip the turkish one, it's earthy and rich and can definitely give you a buzz.

Ghee

From the farm to the table. It doesn't get better than this. With a farm in Homestead, Ghee serves dishes according to the seasons so no wonder the chef is always surprising you with specials on the menu. As the name says, they use ghee (a clarified healthier butter) on majority of the dishes, which Ayurveda claims to have many health benefits. Never ordered anything that I wasn't extremely satisfied with.

Manna Life Food

Vegan and with a purpose of using ingredients to detoxify the body, Mana is the perfect spot for a quick casual bite when around the busy Brickell area. Latin influenced you can get the best healthy arepas in town. The quinoa/hummus nori wrap will surprise you and make rethink about new wrap creations at home. This vegan spot has my heart and when I'm looking go meatless it's where I go.

Lettuce and Tomato

From locals to locals. This gastrobistro is always a good idea for tapas, healthy fun salads, sushi rolls and main grilled meats. It's so easy to make healthy choices here. With an inside and outside it's a cozy environment with a very friendly staff. Lamb burger is most of the time my choice and they have GF bun option.
