The Frog

Adam Handling of Caxton fame has left his residency in London's St Ermin's hotel to open his own selection of restaurants, starting with The Frog.

MasterChef finalist Adam Handling has opened his own venue in Shoreditch - the first in a planned series of openings over the next few years - including a new location for his signature Restaurant Adam Handling.

This new venture (open Tuesday to Sunday) is located in Ely’s Yard, situated next to the Old Truman Brewery in East London and has been designed by Offbeat Interiors with a rustic interior style - think mismatched furnishings and artwork from the London College of Art. The space has seating for 60, with a private dining room for up to 15, situated on a mezzanine floor, overlooking the kitchen.

Using ingredients and products from local London markets, the 'theatrical' and ambitious menu consists of small á la carte dishes, with a daily-changing five-course tasting option (at £40). The restaurant also houses an organic bar that offers an own-brand gin from Portobello Gin and craft beers from BrewDog and an “urban cultivator” incubating fresh, indoor-grown herbs for the kitchen & bar.

Ideal For

Creatives, urbanologists

Signature Dishes

Beetroot, Beetroot and More Beetroot (candied beetroot stuffed with a beetroot mousse and a beetroot gel covered with beetroot dust); crab doughnuts and roast hake with limestone potatoes, and the “nitro tiramisu”.
