Marceline has been inspired by the authentic brasseries of Paris and more playful iterations in New York. Rob Aikens (Le Gavroche and Pastis) leads the kitchen, serving classic French dishes, sometimes with a twist, complemented by a considered wine list curated by Jeffrey Koren (of Norway's three-starred Maemo) that prioritises French and independent producers. Throughout the day the elegantly designed, vaulted dining room (brass mirrors, modern banquette seating & sculptural light fixtures) transitions from a bright and breezy destination, to an intimate and vibrant spot for cocktails, dinners and late-night digestifs. In addition to the main restaurant, there's an alfesco terrace and a bar called Salon Marceline - make sure to order the Two Sips Martini.
Steak tartare with hazelnuts, watercress, mint, and artichoke chips; Escargots de Bourgogne with garlic parsley butter and hazelnuts; wild mushroom vol-au-vent; ravioli du dauphine; and Mille-Feuille.
