Fresh from his restaurant winning the title No.1 Restaurant in Colombia and No.7 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019, Alvaro is making a rare visit to the UK to join forces with Dinings SW3 Executive Chef Masaki Sugisaki to create a one-off eight-course omakase menu fusing the flavours and philosophies behind Japanese and Colombian cuisine. Tickets cost: £285 or £228 without the sake pairing.
Colombian-born Alvaro has worked in some of the best restaurants across the world from Le Bristol and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Paris to Per Se in New York and Noma in Copenhagen. Returning to Colombia in 2013, Alvaro opened El Chato, his first standalone restaurant. Taking inspiration from his time in Europe and the US, the menu at El Chato marries international influences with the most seasonal Colombian produce.
