Yayoi Kusama at Tate Modern

A rare chance to experience two of Yayoi Kusama’s immersive Infinity Rooms installations, transporting you into Kusama’s unique vision of endless reflections.

Considered to be ‘one of the most influential artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries,’ at 90 years old, she is also the world’s top-selling living female artist and become known for the popular (and highly-Instagrammable) installations. On view at Tate Modern - from May 11 to May 9, 2020 - are two signature works showcasing Kusama’s mesmerizing installations.

'The Infinity Mirrored Room – Filled with the Brilliance' of Life is one of Kusama’s largest installations to date and was made for her 2012 retrospective at Tate Modern. It is shown alongside 'Chandelier of Grief', a room which creates the illusion of a boundless universe of rotating crystal chandeliers. The rooms are presented alongside a small collection of photographs, some on display for the very first time. From Spring 2021.
