Alongside music headliners including Two Door Cinema Club, Grace Jones and Bonobo, Oxfordshire’s Wildnerness Festival (billed as the ultimate music loving foodies weekend) will host (August 3 - 6) a mouth-watering array of culinary events with a stellar line-up.
Join a table for one of the convivial feasts, which includes Portuguese maverick Virgilio Martinez, Mediterranean food champion Yotam Ottolenghi and Petersham Nursery graduate and Master Chef winner Thomasina Miers - all preparing lavish, long table banquets and delicious feasts. Each day a different chef is at the helm. Lunch is a four course affair and dinner is five courses – both served with wine.
In addition, there are the field restaurants brought to U by Cafe Murano, The Pig and Petersham Nurseries – which serve as bookable restaurants at which you can dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Be it Cafe Murano's Italian delights served from a wonderful, Bedouin tent, seasonal British garden food from The Pig or ingredient-led dishes from the Petersham Nurseries.
The Chef’s Table is the festivals own tiny restaurant under a canopy, perched on the hillside with a stunning view looking out across the Cornbury lakes. Each chef will prepare a six-course tasting menu for everyone at the Table and includes Hamish Brown, Tommy Banks, Michelin-starred Merlin Labron-Johnson and The Dairy’s Robin Gill.
Also returning is The Dining Room - a handpicked collection of favourite restaurants, representing all that’s exciting on the London scene - Berber and Q, Kricket, Breddos, Frenchie, Bao and Bubbledogs. Relax over breakfast, lunch or while away the evening eating fantastic food at communal tables, whilst sipping a drink from Noble Rot, the brand new Wilderness wine bar which is next door.
Opening Night Wood-Fired Banquet
For the first time, the Opening Night Wood-fired Banquet will kick off the festivities. A laid back, family affair, this is the perfect way to ease into your Wilderness adventure. By the team behind the Woodfire Canteen, Cornwall, the menu is inspired by the summer and cooked in front of you over flames with the very best Cornish produce. Feeding huge numbers of people on long tables the Banquet will be a communal affair enabling diners to "break bread" with their culinary neighbours.
The Wilderness Festival weekend extends far beyond delicious food with incredible live music, late night revelry, talks, debates and philosophical forums, and a variety of outdoor pursuits and family activities - all the ingredients for an absolutely unforgettable event. Tickets on sale now.
