The beloved Cantonese restaurant is to launch a Wontoneria residency at Carousel's No. 23 Charlotte Street.
Sorely missed, iconic Cantonese restaurant chain - which dominated the London Chinese dining scene from 1973 to 2003, gaining a cult following - is making a return to London in the form of a three-month pop-up at No. 23 Charlotte Street, Carousel’s restaurant incubator space.
Amy Poon has created a bespoke menu for Wontoneria at No.23, centred around Poon’s signature handmade wontons in chilli vinegar dressing. These sit alongside a daily lunch special, the wonton noodle bowl, combining a smaller portion of wontons with egg noodles and greens for a restorative midday meal. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 11.30-3pm, all dishes are available to be enjoyed around the 16-seater counter at No.23 or to take away.
