Le Pirate, as it was formerly known, is situated along the entrance to the Cap Martin Peninsula - between Monaco and Menton. It is here in the 1960s and 70s, where the owner, Charles Albert Viale, aka ‘Le Pirate’, transformed a fisherman’s hut that practically clung to the rocks on the edge of the sea into a summer hotspot where such notable celebrities such as Roger Moore, Brigitte Bardot and Frank Sinatra, came to eat and party at the height of a season.
Now - the creators of Monsieur Bleu in Paris comes this sister outpost of their famed follow-up Parisian restaurant (there's also Loulou Saint Tropez on the legendary Pampelonne Beach) have taken over with local legend Samy Sass. Discover a timeless chic design - featuring a white and blue colour palatte with plenty of wooden and rattan furniture filling the many breezy terraces - with breathtaking views of the sea. Food-wise - there's Mediterrean sharing plates of fried calamari, tuna crudo with anchovies, the sea bass ceviche alongside pizza and pasta dishes and whole roasted fish of the day.
