Founded in Antalya in 1937, 7 Mehmet is regarded as a pioneer of modern cooking in Turkey, ahead of its time in culinary concepts such as sustainability, low-waste cooking, seasonality and operating as a learning space for chefs. The family restaurant has been presided over by three generations of chefs, first opened by Mehmet Akdag’s grandfather, of the same name.
The dinner at The Counter marks the English publication of the restaurant’s book, 7 Mehmet - Stories, Products and Recipes, which was recently named best restaurant cookbook at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards 2023. The 7 Mehmet team will present a 9-course menu (£90 per person) which includes both a welcome cocktail and free-flowing raki. Link.
