The intention of the 2-hour session is to help those who attend feel more comfortable with wine – whether it’s when they are discussing wine with friends, serving it at home or navigating a large wine list in a restaurant such as Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester.
Vincent Pastorello, Head of Wines for The Dorchester and Christopher Bothwell, Head Sommelier for Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester will be hosting the class and cover the topics of wine etiquette (how best to store wine, open a bottle, decant and serve wine to your guests at home), wine tasting (learning how to differentiate wines by their look, smell and taste) and wine pairing with Executive Chef Jocelyn Herland providing a selection of canapés for the occasion, paired to each wine.
The course is limited to 8 guests per session and will be priced at £150 per person; it also includes a departure gift: a bottle of Champagne NV Selection Alain Ducasse Brut. Dates are 29 July, 9 September and 1 October from 4pm to 6pm.
