Masterpiece London + Dining Options

This year is the tenth incarnation of this unique Art and Antiques Fair. Set in the spectacular South Grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Masterpiece London brings together collectors, exhibitors and curators from around the world for an unparalleled show of fine art, antiques and design.

Hosting internationally renowned exhibitors, the fair is resolutely committed to offering the best objects available, presenting a unique opportunity to collect across multiple disciplines and mixing contemporary with antique, the traditional with the eclectic. Showcased are a collection of unusual objects from the fine and decorative arts, to premium collectors’ items, such as classic cars, watches, jewellery, fine wines and contemporary design.

Daphne

Established in 1964, Daphne’s is a neighbourhood restaurant serving authentic Italian food and one of London's most fashionable haunts.

English-accented Italian straight out of Chianti-shire.

Expect a collection of Caprice Holdings classics injected with un po dolce vita, from fleshy prawns with garlic and chilli to one of the best veal milanese in London (moist and buttery) or calf’s liver with smoked pancetta and cipolline (aka bacon and onion). Autumn brings white truffle specialities, although summer is the nicest time to visit, when the concertina doors fold open on to the passeggiata of Draycott Avenue.

Daphne’s Italian charm, warmth and intimacy has been a favourite amongst the residents of Chelsea since the 1960s. The Chelsea hotspot was founded by theatre agent Daphne Rye and Masterpiece are delighted to welcome Daphne’s to the fair, open from 12.00 till late daily.

Established in 1964, Daphne’s is a neighbourhood restaurant serving authentic Italian food.

Redesigned by MBDS in 2014, the restaurant retains the effortless charm and natural warmth so synonymous with Italian culture whilst bringing it up to date for today’s dining crowd. A vibrant colour palette of pinks, yellows, greens and oranges reflect the rooftops of Positano and the great works of Venetian colourists, Titian and Veronese. Whilst colourful, the restaurant retains a modern elegance and luxurious comfort with rich leather upholstery and marble.

Scott’s Seafood & Champagne Bar

One of London’s landmark restaurants makes a welcome return to Masterpiece. Scotts opened as an oyster warehouse in 1851, evolving rapidly into a Mayfair mecca for traditional fish, shellfish, meat and seasonal game that we know today - overseen by Richard Caring's Caprice Holdings Group. The seafood institution and celebrity magnet serves the finest traditional fish and shellfish dishes alongside a variety of meat and seasonal game favourites in an atmosphere of clubby sophistication. Expect perfectly prepared and impeccably sourced crustacea and fish for which the restaurant is famed such as an Ostra Regale oyster platter; lobster mayonnaise; and dressed dorset crab with Melba toast. Walk-in only.

The Caprice

One of London's most enduring and best loved restaurants. Expect a casual spin-off of the classic St James’s hangout Le Caprice - regarded as one of London's most famous restaurants - a favourite of A-list celebrities and royals alike, closed after serving as one of the West End’s most prestigious restaurants for almost 40 years. Le Caprice at Masterpiece is open for lunch and dinner serving seasonal classics from the fresh and imaginative modern British and European repertoire. Expect a more substantial menu including some of their best known signature dishes, such as crispy duck and watermelon salad with spicy cashew nuts, and the shrimp burger with spiced corn, avocado and tomato relish.
