World’s First Air Terminal For Animals

JOHN F. KENNEDY International Airports luxury hotel - for animals.. The Ark will be the airport’s newest terminal, designed to accommodate the 70,000 pets and livestock that come through the airport every year.

The 178,000-square-foot building includes spa-like facilities for dogs and cats, 48 hay-lined horse stalls, a pen for 180 head of cattle plus an aviary and holding pens for goats, pigs and sheep. There will also be space for cargo crews to ferry animals to and from aircraft. 

The Ark caters to five particular animals: dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and birds. For dog owners, The ARK offers a 20,000-sqf (1,860-sqm) luxury “resort” run by the company Paradise 4 Paws, complete with bone-shaped splashing pools, massage therapy and “pawdicures with colored nail pawlish.” Dogs can watch flat-screen TVs and their owners can check in on them via webcam. The Cat Adventure Jungle features custom-made climbing trees with a view of the aquarium and grooming services and access to a 24-hour clinic are available and run by Cornell University’s veterinary college. The Ark also includes climate-controlled horse stalls equipped with special soft floors and state of the art facilities will be provided for cattle and sheep and even penguins will live in the lap of luxury - being allocated their own exclusive honeymoon suites.

It is currently unknown whether animals will be required to enter two by two.
