The restaurant project is called Farang - a Thai word meaning foreigner - as part of a “Street Feast style” concept replacing Italian restaurant San Daniele in Islington (initially for a 6 month residency) - having also appeared at Hawker House and Dinerama - serving up home-made, street-food style Thai curries and small plates.
Chef Seb Holmes originally built a name for himself at Peckham institution, The Begging Bowl, before being appointed head chef at the Smoking Goat Soho. Holmes has also worked with Andy Oliver on Som Saa residencies and recently ran his own Thai pop-up, Pestle. Farang London aims to dish up modern Thai street food with a key focus on fusing seasonal British ingredients with home-made Thai street food.
