The Grill by Tom Booton at The Dorchester

The iconic Mayfair restaurant has been revamped as a modern-day British grill.

First established in 1931, The Grill at The Dorchester has had an illustrious culinary history and gained a reputation as the place to be for the finest grill food in London. Chef Tom Booton now takes the helm, which has benefited from revitalised decor (think parquet floors and a striking Murano chandelier) and menu.

Booton, the former head chef at Alyn Williams at the Westbury, is the youngest chef ever to take charge at the restaurant. Bringing fresh ideas and a contemporary spin to the menu, his vibrant,sharing-style dishes include Cornish dressed crab tart and white pudding on brioche and ‘All the chicken’, which is chicken served in a variety of ways, along with a choice of sides such as jacket potato with bacon and cheese. There's also a Chef’s Counter with live cooking.

Favourite Table

With front-row seats to the chefs in action, the dedicated six-seater Pudding Bar offers the chance to have a chat to Tom and indulge in one of his signature deserts.

Signature Dishes

Start with ‘Snacks’ created at the Chef’s Counter, including Welsh lamb belly and cuttlefish skewers, followed by a selection of small plates to share, from Cornish dressed crab tart to white pudding on brioche. Large plates include ‘All the Chicken’, served in a variety of ways, alongside reimagined classics such as ham, egg, and chips.

Signature Drinks

The Dorchester’s Old Tom Gin; Tiddly Wink created with sloe gin, rhubarb and rosemary syrup and English sparkling wine; and Cheeky Chappy playfully inspired by chef Tom and uses Tequila blanco infused with kaffir lime, and ginger and pear liqueurs.

Highlights

The classic British Sunday Roast is very much still a staple serving, with a weekly-changing ‘Bird of the Week’. The classic roast sirloin is served with beef brisket filled Yorkshire pudding complete with beef fat crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a side of creamy cauliflower cheese. Sunday Roast is priced at £65 for three courses.
