Blacks, situated on Dean Street in Soho, is a striking Georgian townhouse that has been converted into a chic private members club, hitting a perfect balance betweeen tradition and modern Soho. It provides comfortable elegance as well as lunch and dinner service between noon and 11pm (British 'gastro' style), plus a bar serving cocktails and organic wines with private dining rooms and boudoirs to enjoy them in.
The venue was built in 1732 (once occupied by Charles Fortnum), and it has a long history of debauched dinners and saucy supper clubs, financier Ben Goldman has recently acquired it and is looking to return the original spirit to the place while keeping an array of modern talent flowing through; the walls are lined with tasteful pop-art, they host monthly live music events, plus exhibitions and talks from pioneering figures in modern literature, fashion, film and art.
