Bambuddha can sound like a gimmick - the private temple designed and created by owner John Moon, the enormous Golden Buddhas from the film Anna and the King, the over-the-top cocktails, the sex shop - but this bar and restaurant in Santa Eulalia has been named Ibiza's Best Fine Dining of 2015 for good reason, and Moon and his team bring the same quality to every facet of this multidimensional venue, who celebrates sweet 17 this year. Often referred to as a Village, Bambuddha is comprised of 14 spaces fusing Goan and Thai influences with soft, sumptuous sultriness, all linked together in a lush tropical space.
Head chef Alejandro Arquero Martinez delivers Bambuddha's signature "MediterrAsian" cuisine (see Signature Dishes) inspired by the spice routes from Cadiz, Spain and Osaka, Japan, and like everything at the Village, perfumed with a decadent erotism. This season sees the arrival of two new sharing menus, encouraging U to get intimate with your fellow diners. There are cocktails for before, during and after dinner (try the Flirtini, Karmapirinha and Mitochondrial Eve) to keep U mingling from 8pm til 3am with both locals and the visiting It crowd.
Bambuddha is appropriately popular, so be sure to reserve.
