How do you start your day?
There are basically two options for how I start my day: either I take the first flight in the morning to go to one of our offices in Germany, Switzerland or, while we are working on the next World Cup in Russia right now, even Moscow or St. Petersburg! If I do not have to travel, a yoga teacher comes to our house in London around 8am and I have an hour long a Vinyasa session. Sometimes my wife Jihane joins me and afterwards we have a healthy breakfast together with our newborn baby!
Leisurely lunch go to?
If I am in london I use lunchtime often for business meetings at the Magazine restaurant at the Serpentine, or at Pachamama in Marylebone.
Favourite way to pass the time in London?
When the sun shines in London it's the greatest city in the world! I like Kensington Gardens, going for a run near Chelsea Hospital along the river or having a Russian spa treatment at South Kensington Members Club.
Favourite London landmarks, and why?
I am not a good person to answer that question, because my agenda is extremely full and I am still traveling around 150 days in a year. But my favourite thing about London is that I can meet more international business people in a week here than in Germany in entire month! Everybody is here - and I hope it will stay like that after Brexit.
Tipple of choice and favourite cocktail hangout?
A great spot for cocktails is a new place from my business partner, Iska, at the the end of Kings Road. It's a new Peruvian restaurant called 'Chicama' and they are mixology masters! Also, the bar at Chiltern FireHouse.
Favourite dining destinations, and why?
London is the Silicon Valley for food. The variety of interesting food concepts is amazing! My wife and I love Kricket, the Indian pop-up concept from Brixton which is now moving to Soho (opening in November). Also Palomar, the Israeli restaurant, or Roka in Mayfair by my friend Rainer Becker.
Final stop for a nightcap, and why?
London is an earlier city, so I prefer to have a glass of red wine at home. In case I am in Berlin with my wife on a Sunday, we go to Panorama bar at Berghain or at Club de Visionaere. These are proper nightcaps.
Rest hangover remedy?
Aspirin before you go to bed! And Russian Banya the next morning to sweat it out properly.
Where next on your travels?
Busy days ahead! This week - Frankfort, Moscow, Nice and Berlin before going to Rio the week after, where we are in charge of the catering for the opening and closing ceremony for the summer Olympics at the Maracana stadium.
