Head Chef Erren Nathaniel most recently spent time at Maido, Peru’s top Nikkei restaurant (one of San Pelegrino’s Top 50 restaurants in the world) and has previously worked his way around some of London’s most exciting kitchens, including Launceston Place, Viajante, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught and 28:50.
The menu, inspired by the coastal food of Peru, revolves around fish of the day. Market fresh fish (delivered daily from Cornwall) such as dover sole, rock bass and monkfish cooked on the robata grill and served with house sauces, such as fermented sweet potato chilli and lobster oil chimichurri. With no meat on the menu, seafood and vegetables are championed and vibrant flavours making bold use of chilli and lime feature throughout.
Chicama is open Tuesday through to Sunday for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
Vibrantly-flavoured food, neighbourhood dining
A 16-cover chef’s table situated in the kitchen is available for private dining as well as for hosting chefs’ residencies. Additionally, there is a charming 30-cover terrace open for lunch, dinner and drinks.
Tuna tiradito, smoked tamari egg, black radish and Crispy confit seabass rolls while inventive vegetable dishes using the best British seasonal produce, such as BBQ baby beets, choclo and Japanese pear salad; Tuna poke with ají panca Tiger’s Milk, smoked egg & crispy potato and cauliflower with smoked burrata & pine nut salt.
The drinks offering includes a concise list of Peruvian inspired cocktails alongside an extensive selection of Pisco, Mezcal, Sake and Japanese Whisky.
