Claro by Leandro Carreira

The renowned Portuguese chef is behind this take on a modern taberna, coming soon to Soho...

Chef Leandro Carreira, cut his teeth at famed Spanish restaurant 'Mugaritz', before working alongside Koya's Junya Yamasaki and fellow countryman Nuno Mendes. Originally from Leiria, Carreira opened (then closed) his well-reviewed own restaurant, Londrino, before becoming Head chef at The Sea, The Sea - the chef-led fish shop, deli and seafood bar in Chelsea.

Expect this new venture (replacing Bonnie Gull Soho) to be loosely based on Portuguese tabernas, with small plates - showcasing the very best from his native Portugal aside more progressive plates inspired by his travels around the world. The 26-cover, minimal designed space (with open kitchen) features a mix of counter-style seating and high tables, taking both reservations and walk-ins.
