Gastro Garage deconstructs classic dishes and reconstructs them into signature “tanks” made from savory brioche donuts that are filled with nitrous foam in a variety of flavors and then torched with gourmet toppings, finishing oils, purees and spices. The fully immersive, interactive dining experience, where unique chef meets mechanic, is currently lighting up Hollywood with a 12-night pop-up dinner series.
But later this year, the team – headed by Stewart Levin – plans to open a permanent site somewhere in Downtown LA.
Until then, make Ur way to Hollywood for the pop-up before it ends on February 11th. Here the chef’s four-course Torch Me menu starts at $50 but U can also order any three tanks at the grab-and-go Gastro Counter and lounge in the garage in a more casual setting.
Getting Ur blowtorch on
Filly Tank – aged sharp white cheddar foam and torched New York strip with onion puree and truffle salt Rolls Royce Tank – béarnaise foam and garlic poached lobster tail with crème fraiche and caviar Fire Berry Tank – double chocolate foam and torched carmelized balsamic strawberries and fresh cracked pepper
