Salt and Time: Stories From A Siberian Kitchen

The Stories On Our Plate (SOOP) supper club series celebrates cuisines showcased by refugee, former refugee, asylum seeker, and migrant chefs.

Stories On Our Plate (SOOP) and Alissa Timoshkina invite you to a unique food and storytelling dinner, sharing the mixed heritage of Alissa's family and the melting pot of Siberia.

Alissa was born in Siberia, Russia, into a family of Ukrainian Jewish origin and has resided in the UK since the late 1990s. Having gained a PHD in Holocaust and film studies, Alissa worked as a lecturer and film curator until her passion for cooking and feeding took over entirely and she embarked on a new career path. She now hosts a successful supper club - KinoVino, which marries film and food, while also running private dining experiences, food pop-ups and Russian-themed food gatherings. All proceeds from the monthly SOOP supper clubs go towards the SOOP culinary training programme for refugee chefs.

As with every SOOP monthly supper club, the menu is in the spirit of sharing. For this month, expect dips, salads, ferments, aubergine caviar, buckwheat tabbouleh, vodka cocktails, and more. BYOB. Tickets are priced at £38.
