The owner of Blanco Beach Club in Portugal Maximillian White shares with U his favourite tips and hangouts giving U an insight into his 'Perfect Day'

How do you start your day?

Always with music. It sets a good tone for the day. Then, of course, a shower and the usual morning routine.

Leisurely lunch go to?

Depends on which city I’m in! When I’m in Marbella over the summer its Ocean Beach Club for the vibe. If I’m in Dubai, DIFC is my go to spot during the day - Cipriani or La Petite Maison. At the moment, whilst I’m in the Algarve I sneak away from work to Canico - an amazing restaurant on the beach.

Favourite way to pass the time in Portugal?

Sailing on my boat - the Algarve coastline is absolutely amazing. And nothing really beats a bit of fresh air.

Favourite Portugal landmarks, and why?

The buildings in Lisbon city. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world - the architecture of the older buildings are really beautiful. Se De Lisboa is one of my landmarks.

Tipple of choice and favourite cocktail hangout?

Red Wine is my go to. I grew up with my father educating me on wines, so as I travel I take advantage of experiencing the different varieties of wines from different regions. I haven’t found my cocktail hang out in Portugal yet.. but pretty sure it will be Blanco. When I’m back in Dubai my favourite cocktail hang out is Socialista - you can't really go wrong with that place.

Favourite dining destinations, and why?

Novikov Dubai for the fresh fish market and variety. STK Ibiza when I drop into town for the Tomahawk steak.

Final stop for a nightcap, and why?

When I’m in Marbella... Teatro Marbella for the atmosphere and entertainment. Dubai… I feel like nightcaps don’t exist there? It's not a wind-down city once the party starts.

Rest hangover remedy?

A lot of water before I sleep.. and Berocca / B12 when I wake up. If all else fails another glass of champagne!

Where next on your travels?

Australia. I want to take a few weeks to explore a few areas. Sydney is first on the list for their restaurants and cafe culture - it's extremely creative driven in Sydney so it reflects in the food culture. After that, I want to travel up to the Whitsundays.
