Society Café & Lounge

Dubai's newest casual eatery may also be its most Insta-worthy!

The large conservatory-style café, housed in a restored Jumeirah villa, offers a contemporary chic vibe amidst sunlight-drenched surroundings decorated in a neutral colour palette of whites and blues, with gold accents, and leafy foliage. Spread across different zones, the two-storey space features a hip upstairs lounge which is designed to be a co-working and events space (which will host cool pop-ups imminently), while the downstairs section keeps the focus firmly on food.

Helmed by chef Jarek Wysmyk (formerly of Common Grounds), the culinary team serves up modern dishes such as Softshell Crab Burger with Lime Miso and Mango Slaw; Pan-Seared Salmon with Curried Pumpkin and Cauliflower Dahl; and King Prawn Linguini with Sambal Chili Tomato Sauce, using local produce from an in-house organic farm.
Its breakfast menu is the stuff of #breakfastgoals though, with everything from a healthy Morning bowl (kale, beetroot slaw, roasted sweet potato, avocado and poached egg, with a delicious miso vinaigrette tying it all together), to Khachapuri bread with smoked cheddar sauce, herbs and egg, on offer. Healthy options such as granola and coconut bircher muesli abound, as do a tempting selection of freshly baked breads and pastries.
In fact, their dessert selection is show-stopping - flourless lemon, ricotta almond cake, anyone? - and includes delicious gluten- and dairy-free options. You can wash it all down with a creative mocktail, concocted by a proper mixologist (ex-Zuma, no less), and you won't even miss the lack of a booze license (it is an independent Jumeirah café , after all). They also serve a bespoke specialty coffee blend from boutique coffee roasters, Blacksmith Coffee.
