Trader Vic's

The city's best-loved nightspot has now opened in Hilton JBR, offering beach views and naturally, their signature tiki cocktails.

Probably one of the largest Trader Vic's venues around, the sprawling space is designed in the traditional Polynesian style that we've come to love, with décor details including suspended Taiwanese canoes, tribal masks from Papua New Guinea, and Japanese fishing net orbs. The familiar wooden Tiki statue makes appearances throughout - 34 times to be exact - in different sizes and shapes, and are even placed in the hotel lobby to guide U up to the venue. Inside, different spaces ranging from banquetted booths to front-row tables by the live music stage offer an inviting vibe, although through the cooler months, the outdoor terrace boasting views of the Arabian Gulf and Palm Jumeirah will likely be where all the action is. A live band belting out foot-tapping music creates an unmistakable party atmosphere.

While the legendary cocktails such as the Mai Tai and Tiki Puka Puka will be on offer, food is a big part of the experience here - with crowd-pleasing nibbles of Asian-influenced island cuisine dishes such as crispy prawns; Indonesian chicken skewers; Jalapeno cheese balls; and Tama Tama lamb skewers being dished out from the open display kitchen. A full service dinner menu featuring dishes including steak and grilled meat and fish from a wood-fired oven, and Asian noodles and curries, is also available.
