Francis Ford Coppola’s timeless masterpiece The Godfather is being shown on the big screen at Dubai Opera on February 28 whilst Nino Rota’s immortal score is performed simultaneously by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Justin Freer. The Godfather in Concert is a celebration of the crime classic regularly cited as one of the greatest films ever made, returns to one of Dubai’s most iconic venue.
The Godfather, released in 1972 to popular and critical acclaim and winner of three Academy Awards, tells the story of the Corleones and their rivalry with other New York crime families between 1945 and 1955, as the title character (Marlon Brando) hands over the reins of power to his youngest son (Al Pacino). Tickets are priced at AED 175.
On March 1-2, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - the second installment of JK Rowling's beloved tales - will be screened, as John Williams's memorable songs are performed live.
