The Arcade Food Theatre

The 12,500 square foot venture (in Centre Point) features seven independent kitchens - each with their own counter seating, a coffee and bakery counter, three bars serving a broad menu of bespoke cocktails, craft beer and wine, an outdoor terrace, and ‘The Loft’, and incubation-focused space showcasing some of the city’s most exciting and emerging culinary concepts. The starting line-up includes a roll-call of spin-offs from some of London’s most popular names. There’s Pophams, the much-loved bakery, TŌU by TĀTĀ Eatery - serving their epic katsu sandwiches, Pastorcito – from the Harts Group, Casita Do Frango and Chotto by Chotto Matte - dishing up Nikkei cuisine. 

Harrods Food Hall

The iconic department store has unveiled its new Dining Hall which features a number of restaurants with a wine bar at its core. Known formerly as the Meat & Fish Hall, the launch of the Dining Hall marks the subsequent stage of a two-year renovation of the department store’s celebrated food halls. Designed by David Collins Studio, the hall features six bars and restaurants, including: The Hall's Fish Bar serving seafood directly sourced by Harrods fish buyers, The Pasta Bar serving traditional carbonara and pappardelle al ragù while Vineet Bhatia’s 26-cover restaurant, Kama by Vineet, offers a selection of ‘modernised regional Indian classics. There's also the wine bar offering more that 100 wines available by the glass alongside a selection of dishes devised by Caviar House & Prunier. The Market - Coming Soon 

The 20,000-square-foot food hub - at 22 Bishopsgate - is run in partnership with leading hospitality group rhubarb and champions of grassroots talent of the food and beverage industry, The Young British Foodies. Occupying the communal spaces across the 2nd floor of 22 Bishopsgate, The Market includes a restaurant and adjoining terrace, a modern wine bar, as well as a selection of food and drink offerings in street-food style kiosks and pop-ups that are continually rotated. The Market will only be open to the public outside business hours and on Saturdays. 

Eataly - Coming Soon

Italian upmarket food chain Eataly plans to open its first London food hall in 2020. Eataly is the international Italian food emporium that blurring the line between supermarket and restaurant. It comprises a mixture of market-style shopping, counter dining, and traditional restaurants which has made it instantly popular. The original Eataly opened in 2007 when Italian businessman Oscar Farinetti converted a closed vermouth factory, in Turin - which The New York Times described as megastore that "combines elements of a bustling European open market, a Whole-Foods-style supermarket, a high-end food court and a New Age learning center". Expect (in the 40,000 sq. ft site, near Liverpool Street) to find everything from an upmarket grocery store, on-site bakery, a microbrewery, several restaurants (super star chef Massimo Bottura even has a restaurant inside Eataly Istanbul), a Nutella bar and even a cooking school.

Market Halls - Coming Soon 

Market Halls is set to open a fourth London food hall at Canary Wharf’s Crossrail Place next year. The street food concept is set to operate across 20,000 sq ft on the ground and dock levels of Cargo, a scheme at Crossrail Place. The development, located at the entrance of Canary Wharf’s Elizabeth line station, is due to complete in the fourth quarter of 2020. The new site would have the provision for numerous kitchens, two bars, a coffee shop, outdoor terraces and seating for 500. The Canary Wharf venue joins halls in Fulham and Victoria, and the UK’s largest food hall opening at the former BHS in London’s Oxford Street. 

Mercato Mayfair - Coming Soon 

Mercato Metropolitano - the sustainable community food market with an Italian soul - is to expand in to North Mayfair, London, with the opening of its second site in the newly restored, Grade I listed St Mark’s. The launch of Mercato Mayfair (their other site is in Elephant & Castle) sees St Mark’s reopen to the public after decades of private usage. The market promotes a healthy and sustainable approach to food by focussing on artisans and local producers and by raising awareness of sustainability through its onsite urban farm, cookery lessons, cultural programs of films, exhibitions and events. Expect diverse retail and dining experiences across four floors which encompasses various international cuisines counters, a restaurant, a deli, cheese and wine stores, a coffee and gelato bar, patisserie, cocktail bar, a brewery, flower shop and a rooftop terrace and outdoor bar. 

KERB - Coming Soon

Having proved a success in King’s Cross, Paddington and the City among other locations KERB is opening a new venue in Seven Dials. This is KERB's first permanent home, but also the West End’s first permanent covered food market. The venue itself is Thomas Neal’s Warehouse on Short’s Gardens, a 19th century space formerly used to store bananas and cucumbers. The 22,000 sq ft space is spread across two floors, with room for 26 traders and hundreds of visitors. Replacing its usual food trucks with polished counters, KERB Seven Dials houses a mix of street food traders, deli stalls, a florist and a bookshop. 

Time Out Market London

Time Out Market London Waterloo will be the centrepiece of the new Waterloo.London development, which is turning the station’s former Eurostar terminal into a new South Bank hotspot. Inside, discover over two floors with around 500 seats, with 17 of London’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs serving all kinds of cuisines, plus three bars and a space for cultural experiences showcasing the best London talent. Scheduled to open in 2021. 

Big Mamma

Big Mamma Group, the operator of Gloria and recently opened Circolo Popolare restaurants, is weighing up a potential food market in London. Expected to be a replication of La Felicità in Paris, described as one of the largest restaurants in Europe, at 4,500 sq m, but operates more like a food hall and comprises five different eateries, including an expansive outdoor space, and three bars.
