Malibu's Carbon Beach Club

When the weather is fine (and it almost always is), the oceanfront Carbon Beach Club is an ideal place to dine when you want to watch the waves crash below.

Within the posh and pricey Malibu Beach Inn, the intimate Carbon Beach Club restaurant has an enviable location and drop-dead gorgeous views (no hyperbole here!) Look out from the yacht-like dining room to the Malibu Pier beyond; the Pacific Ocean is also the backdrop for the oceanfront patio—arguably, one of the most scenic places to dine in all of the L.A.

The menu keeps up with the trends and local wines are poured. (Malibu has its own A.V.A. in fact). Cocktails and bubbles are available too. Chef de cuisine Victor Morales keeps the menu very California centric and seasonal. Choose a spring fruit plate or farmers' market salad to start; the second course includes the deservedly popular ahi tuna fish taco. Desserts range from carrot cake to a flourless chocolate fudge bar. Make sure you leave room to take in the exquisite setting!
