Ikigai by Reif Othman

A casual izakaya-inspired eatery, in Dubai Marina, from the multi-award-winning chef.

A dining experience inspired by Japan's izakaya culture (informal bar food; sharing plates). The laidback eatery and bar is named Ikigai (meaning “a reason for being” in Japanese) and is located in the Millennium Place Marina Hotel in Dubai Marina.

On the menu there’s dishes inspired by Japanese street food, and “izakaya” dishes (from grilled tiger prawns with Kombu butter to crispy tempura burgers) along with an equally impressive drinks menu - which can be enjoyed indoors or on the terrace. The design takes cues from traditional Japanese minka homes and the backstreet dive bars of Tokyo - with wooden interiors, mood lighting and graffiti murals.
