The original El Pastor opened on Stoney Street in 2016, followed by Tortilleria El Pastor in Bermondsey, and a further two in Coal Drops Yard. The menu serves the Mexican dishes that El Pastor’s fans know and love, inspired by the founder’s travels around the country. All tortillas are made in-house daily, and there's a focus on seasonal seafood tostadas – plus a debut for a crispy duck taco sharing plate.
The 86-cover ground floor dining room references downtown Mexico City - inspired by “the grandeur of long-standing official buildings in downtown Mexico”, think - a mixture of terrazzo tiles, muted walls, chandeliers and hanging plants. Downstairs, they’re opening up 'Mezcaleria El Colmillo' in reference to their nightclub in Mexico City - with a mezcal bar and “a house party vibe”.
