Ave Mario

Big Mamma, the restaurant group behind Gloria and Circolo Popolare, is now serving over the top Italian dishes in an Instagrammable space in Covent Garden.

Joining Gloria in Shoreditch and Circolo Popolare in Fitzrovia - is this Florentine-inspired opening in Covent Garden. Expect another laid-back trattoria - inspired by traditional osteria - featuring two terraces and a skylight-lit, green-and-white striped dining room with a 3,500-bottle wall at the feature bar, as well as a 1970s-style mirrored basement with counter dining, serving freshly made pizzas and an indoor courtyard. Overall they can feed up to 227 covers in one seating.

The opening has been “inspired by the perfect day in Firenze”, while the menu features hearty dishes from “Liguria to Venice to Milan”. The menu of authentic Italian dishes - goes beyond the group's classic dishes, including carbonara ravioli filled with pecorino cream, egg yolk and guanciale flakes, and Cotoletta Milanese, a fried breaded veal cutlet and a 60cm tall show-stopper Stracciatella ice-cream cake marbled with chocolate spread.
