Haugen

An Alpine-themed restaurant and bar serving casual Mittel-European cuisine.

Part of Stratford’s East London’s International Quarter development: this D&D London group launch occupies a purpose built sustainably constructed three-floor landmark within the Olympic Park. It has a sizeable 550 covers in all and comprises a ground floor deli plus large restaurant and ‘winter garden’; a first floor dining room, also with terrace; and a rooftop bar with views of Stratford and the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Think chalet-style interiors with plenty of faux fur throes and fireplaces for the interiors.

Foodwise, it’s akin to their German Gymnasium - an Alpine theme with references to France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The menu of modern versions of classic Alpine dishes includes the likes of fondue served with sourdough, new potatoes and pickles, a tartiflette with reblochon cheese, bacon and potato and signature Veinna schnitzel.
