The Fat Badger - just a short walk from Richmond Park - is the Gladwin brother's fifth restaurant (they also run The Shed in Notting Hill and Sussex in Soho), and have transformed the space into a warm and stylish pub-inspired dining room - complete with oak wood floors, dark leather banquet and farm-style bric-à-brac and views across to the River Thames.
The menu merges classic dishes with modern cooking techniques, and boasts the spoils of the English countryside and coast. British sharing specials mark the blackboards - such as a signature ‘Stargazy’ pie to prime cuts of Sussex Simmental beef from Tomahawk to Côte de Boeuf - alongside locally sourced fresh vegetables and foraged herbs - with many of the ingredients coming from the Gladwin's family farm. The wine menu features a range of award-wining English wines from their family-run boutique vineyard in West Sussex. Expect to enjoy all the charm of a proper countryside pub blended with a distinctive and delicious take on traditional British dining.
