Cedric Grolet at The Berkeley

World-renowned pastry chef Cédric Grolet's has opened his first international patisserie and bakery in London's Knightsbridge.

As one of the most talked-about pâtissiers and widely considered as one of the world’s best pastry chefs, Cédric Grolet, is known worldwide (even with over a-million-strong Instagram followers), for his visually-stunning confections and the mastermind behind legendary pastries and desserts at Paris's Le Meurice hotel since 2012. Grolet also led the opening of Le Meurice’s first pastry boutique in March 2018, where he showcased not only his trompe l’oeil fruits, but also unique takes on classic French desserts and other creative pastries.

Expect more of the same at his first international shop. This patisserie – designed by Remi Tessier – features a pastry theatre where Grolet’s team create his masterpieces for all to see, and eight seats overlooking the kitchen serving a £135 tasting menu. Customers will be able to take away, or sit and enjoy his creations at “Goûter,” an entirely new 60 seater space within the hotel. The Berkeley Café will serve ‘Le petit déjeuner’ and  ‘Goûter Cedric Grolet’ – an entirely new teatime ritual.
