Mestixa Tulum

An Asian and Mexican street food concept, dishing up umami-rich fusion fare and one of the most intriguing yet satisfying restaurants in Tulum.

Mestixa is a culinary gem in Tulum Centro that offers a truly unique gastronomical experience. Co-owner and chef Cara Davis has worked at some of the world's most esteemed restaurants including Alinea in Chicago, New York's Eleven Madison Park, Restaurant Story in London and also at the famous Restaurant Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain. At her informal and simply decorated eatery - the focus is on combining the best flavors of both Asian and Mexican street food. Dine on memorable and umami heightened dishes with spice-packed flavors found across Asian cuisine styles with Mexican dishes and vice versa.

The menu is constantly evolving, but expect to find dishes such as pork belly bao buns, shrimp dumplings topped with tamarind sauce and a grasshopper garnish and tempura shrimp served inside a lettuce tortilla, with furikake, pickled ginger and dashi.
