As was the case previously with Richoux, the menu pays homage to the grand brasseries of Paris - now by chefs Jamie Butler and Lewis Spencer - who met at Moor Hall, the two Michelin star Lake District that has twice been named the best restaurant in the UK. The dining room features scalloped pearl floor tiles, restored original alcoves, mottled mirrored walls and art deco wall lights.
The dining room offers an all-day menu of paired back modern brasserie dishes such as French onion soup, Welsh rarebit and croque Monsieur. Larger platesl include salmon a la plancha with wild rice, artichokes, lemon and pickled cucumber; and grilled chicken paillard in a citrus gremolata, served with rocket and toasted almonds.
All-day dining
At the rear, an elegant bar, replete with high stools and polished golden fixtures, is reminiscent of old school Parisian cafes, providing the perfect spot for one of Richoux’s classic cocktails in hand.
Raw tuna and watermelon, made with sushi-grade tuna; salmon a la plancha with wild rice, artichokes, lemon and pickled cucumber; grilled chicken paillard in a citrus gremolata, served with rocket and toasted almonds and crispy duck salad with a hoisin dressing, candied cashew, spring onion and gem lettuce.
