Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, and modeled on the cultural melting pot of communal living, commonly known as “building societies” in Bombay, is Pahli Hill. Named after an old city neighbourhood, Pahli Hill offers the finest regional Indian small plates, derived from home recipes and traditional techniques, made to share in an informal setting.
Much like the food, Pali Hill’s dining room is vibrant but informal in feel, with modern prints providing splashes of colour to the walls and an open kitchen in one corner allowing aromas of spice to waft across the room. Meanwhile below the restaurant lies Bhandra Bhai – a basement cocktail bar inspired by India’s smugglers dens.
Regional Indian dishes
Girolle and potato stuffed paratha with ghee and lime preserve; pan-fried lamb sweet breads with black pepper, cumin, crispy curry leaves and mint; grilled venison lal maas marinated with ginger, herbs and sweet spices and stuffed aubergine, with green tomato chutney and hung curd with rice flour.
