With locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Doha, London, New Delhi and Mumbai, it was only a matter of time before the Indian fine dining restaurant Jamavar opened its doors in Dubai. Taking its name from the intricate 16th-century lace shawls of Kashmir, Jamavar is known for its luxurious pan-Indian cuisine.
Expect an incredibly smart, colonial style gentleman’s clubs design with dark-pannelled wood and references to the Viceroy’s house of New Delhi with delicate colonial flourishes combined with the intricate patterns and vibrant colours from the Jamavar shawls of India. The menu looks to all parts of India, with a slight bias towards the north, and also showcases dishes that would have featured in royal kitchens. Think - 8-hour slow-cooked lamb shank with Rajasthani chilli, lobster neeruli with pearl onions and kal dosa or a Calicut sea bass curry.
