Seven Sands

Named after the seven emirates, Emirati restaurant takes diners on a journey through the history of the UAE one dish at a time.

The all-day dining venue can be found overlooking the ocean at the trendy The Beach complex and comprises a restaurant, a café and a lounge where various flavours of shisha are served.

The menu brings together delicacies from across the UAE, including traditional dishes such as Maleh Korse, a fish dish developed by the early settlers which has been given a modern twist. The restaurant also gives its take on Bedouin stew Thereed, choosing to cook it with potatoes, pumpkin, marrow and tomatoes, seasoned with saffron, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger.

One for all the family to taste is an Emirati pancake a crepe flavoured with saffron, stuffed with sweet vermicelli and served with date syrup, honey and cheese. Diners will also find more well-known Arabic dishes such as Kibbeh al Bezar (minced lamb with pine seeds and almonds) and wrapped Bezar Prawns.

Bring a meal to a close with a sweet treat and sample the Khabeesa a dessert that dates back to ancestral times and is made from an interesting combination of roasted semolina flour, sugar, ground cardamom, rose water, saffron, cashew nuts and sultanas.
