Named after the founding Forte, Lord Charles, the restaurant (replacing Heinz Beck's Italian offering) showcases the evolution of British cuisine. Menus have been developed by Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt - best known for the fine-dining Trinity in Clapham. Expect elements of contemporary British cuisine with a hint of European flavours with seasonal dishes such as fried courgette flowers with truffle honey and Dover Sole simply grilled or baked in late summer butter. The elegant and rather charmingly old-fashioned Mayfair dining room features cosy booths, antique panelling and delightful botanical wallpaper - overseen by award-winning designer Olga Polizzi.
Ask for corner tables 11 & 12 - at the back of the dining room, which sets you up with a view of the entire room as well as added privacy.
Poached Landes chicken with chicken velouté, vegetables and tarragon; North African-spiced lamb shoulder with toasted couscous and preserved lemon and whole dressed Loch Duart salmon with potato salad, cucumber and mayonnaise.
