Bluebird

This iconic D&D restaurant, located on the King's Road, has undergone a glamorous head-to-toe makeover...

Bluebird has re-opened after an extensive new re-design (costing £2 million) by Sagrada (designers of Sartoria and The Arts Club), which celebrates the building’s history as the first garage of the Bluebird Motor Company in 1923 - with the atrium featuring mature trees, climbing plants, wild flowers, grasses and herbs with custom-made furniture whose fabrics and textures nod to English racing.

Chef Liam Smith-Laing’s menus at Bluebird feature simple, fresh dishes inspired by the best of Modern European cooking, made using the finest ingredients. The menu contains both small plates and larger sharing dishes, combining his experience from La Petite Maison in Istanbul and D&D London's Skylon on the Southbank.

The wine list has an emphasis on sparkling, English and natural wines, with a large selection available by the glass, and bottles from the Old and New World divided by style rather than region. The Bar also serves experimental and limited edition cocktails inspired by the heritage of the building.

The ground floor is also a lively space, with a café and courtyard offering light bites (and bigger bites too, such as the 'Big Bird' breakfast), fresh juices, a barbecue (with dishes such as Bluebird cheese burger or the 42 day aged ribeye on offer), and a Gin Garden. Bluebird has a huge amount to offer, including an in-house bakery, wine cellar (with over 750 wines and regular tastings) and food store (with seasonal salad bar, pastries and gourmet sandwiches) that makes it a one-stop-shop for anyone passing through.
