Le Pont De La Tour

The Tower Bridge hotspot known for its fabulous French food has had a makeover...

The recently refurbished, revamped restaurant's menu is bursting full of classic French dishes, created by Head Chef, Frederick Forster, (having previously worked at the Ritz, Le Gavroche and Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons).

For over 20 years, the Pont de le Tour (Terence Conran's flagship eaterie) has offered City locals and tourists a gorgeous view of the river from the terrace from one of the most stunning locations in London, nestling beside Tower Bridge on the bank of the Thames. The decor ('reinventing the space') was overseen by Russell Sage studios and features an opulent gold patterned ceiling, art deco furniture with a distinctly nautical style.

The menu, while featuring and showcasing French cuisine, also features great British produce. Expect dishes like, 'roasted Orkney scallops with violet artichokes', 'golden beetroot with turnip and wild wood sorrel' and 'poached turbot with leeks and cauliflower and a crab sauce.' As well as the a la carte menu there's also a bar menu for smaller plates and sharing dishes and cocktails that celebrate French culture.

The wine list is rather extensive with a focus on French wines, but also wines from Italy and California. And from Thursday to Saturday the venue also hosts live music.
