Sister venue to award-winning Mayfair bar Mr Fogg's, the tavern is be the eighth project from Charlie Gilkes' and Duncan Stirling's Inception Group, whose venues are all well-loved for their conceptual themes. Based on the adventures of Jules Verne's fictional explorer, Phileas Fogg, Mr Fogg's Tavern features an 'upstairs downstairs' theatrical theme with a Victorian tavern on the ground floor and a refined gin parlour and salon upstairs.
Upstairs, the Gin Parlour and Salon is filled with antique theatrical props, wigs, old scripts, ornate glass chandeliers (with a seperate entrance for both men and women to enter discreetly). In the salon you will be served punch (the Victorian tipple of choice), in authentic silver punch bowls, alongside an array of cocktails inspired by the time. Afternoon tea is served at the weekends, comprising of an array of sandwiches, cakes, pastries and petits-fours with cocktails presented in teapots!
Downstairs features a cosy wooden interior with 19th century artifacts adorning the walls and ceiling. Expect real ales, 'mother's ruin' and gin cocktails in traditional tankards and pewter cups by staff adorned in traditional overalls. For the food, served throughout the day and evening, expect dishes such as traditional pies, ‘roast of the day’ sandwiches and 'the perfect Ploughman’s'.
The curious, tempting tipples, a journey through time, avid explorers, late night libations...
