Located at the corner of Mortimer Street where Middlesex Hospital previously resided. Called Percy & Founders, the name comes from the Duke of Northumberland (Hugh Percy) who laid the foundation stone of the original hospital and also refers to the group of philanthropists who founded the hospital back in 1755.
The restaurant (with 200 covers), serves breakfast as well as lunch, dinner, and evening cocktails. The kitchen is headed up by Diego Cardoso (former Head Chef of Murano), who uses locally, sustainably sourced and artisan-prepared ingredients, to create dishes ‘inspired by British and European influences’. The menu feature six Starters, six Mains, Salads, Sides and ‘Classics to share’. There is also a menu for Bar Snacks (think Potted Rabbit and Courgette Wafers), Puddings and Sunday Roasts.
The décor has ‘a certain lightness of touch' with a modern and stylish feel throughout. This new opening 'marks the groups evolution from traditional pub to more contemporary dining venues set in beautifully design and informal surroundings'.
There is also a private dining room available called 'Percy's Den' (with a capacity of 24 seated and 35 standing) - the restaurant will offer event-specific, seasonally-changing menus from £35 per person, with dishes such as rabbit terrine with pickled girolles and mustard crème fraiche; Goosnargh duck breast with watercress, cauliflower and granola; and peanut butter parfait with fresh cherries. For the drinks a pull-put drinks trolley with bar staff able to make cocktails on request.
