Alan Yau (of Wagamama and Hakkasan acclaim) has opened the eagerly awaited Duck & Rice, London’s first Chinese gastropub in Soho.

Taking over the long-standing Endurance on Berwick Street (around the corner from his former dim sum restaurant Yauatcha, pictured) this great dining spot offers Chinese street food and Asian cocktails. Think Victorian pub with Asian influences...and a pared-down Asian aesthetic. 

The restaurant (inspired by “the Hong Kong-garden chop suey house”) is housed in a revamped ground-floor bar (which was the original pub) and a upstairs room, featuring counter dining as well as private dining rooms. Outside there is also the option of some alfresco seating. Expect a more casual bustling ‘pub’ atmosphere than fine dining.
