The rebrand of this well-loved Indian restaurant isn't just cosmetic - everything from the food to the décor has been overhauled. Classic North Indian dishes - from Tandoori kebabs, and Butter Chicken, to the ever-popular Biryani - are adapted for an international palate with subtle flavours, using home-ground spices. Regional dishes are given a nod too, with some speciality items such as the Bengali coconut prawn curry, on offer. All the chutneys and pickles are house-made, adding a flourish of authenticity, while the (non-alcoholic) drinks selection showcases delicious twists on favourites - mint lemonade with watermelon or strawberry.
All served up in a fresh, modern space with futuristic lighting, splashes of vibrant turquoise, elegant murals adding a touch of Indian-ness and an open kitchen with brass details where the chefs (and grilling kebabs!) are on display, at surprisingly affordable prices.
The new-look Zafran is now open in Mirdiff City Centre, with the popular Dubai Marina outpost set to reopen post-refurb soon.
