Inspired by the diverse food scene the founders encountered on travels in cities including LA, New York and San Francisco, they have set out to capture the vibrancy of Mexican food and a fun style of vegan street food (seen at Kerb and Street Feast).
Club Mexicana makes great-tasting food that just happens to be vegan. The menu takes a twist on Mexican ‘meaty’ classics, re-incarnated as vegan dishes - which "packs a punch, but with a sprinkling of 80s kitsch to sweeten the blow".
Club Mexicana’s new home, Pamela, opened in 2015 following a summer series of pop-ups. An ode to all the great Pamelas, from Anderson to Grier, the bar is focused on infused spirits and updated classics. Aside from the various Pamela portraits on the walls, the room is minimally styled with pared-down low hanging lamps and a copper top bar.
Sensational vegan Mexican food
Al Pastor Taco with pineapple and chilli marinated ‘pork’; Baja To-fish Taco, with pickled red cabbage, salsa verde and chipotle chilli oil; Buffalo Cauliflower Taco with blue ‘cheese’, celery leaves and chilli threads; BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Tacos and Jalepeno Poppers stuffed with chipotle cashew ‘cheese’.
